Never seen an i8 that wasn’t white/black/silver. Interesting.

I’m not sure at what point ‘shoved ass-backwards into an air duct’ becomes ‘snuggles’, but I guess Puffalump’s still smiling so it can’t be all bad.

I told you it was vicious.

I’m not sure it’s being devoured so much as tickled. Fluffy seems amused. Also, Fluffy is still here.

Can I get your comment on the fact that the car appears to be pooping out a Porsche?

I asked Fluffy for her thoughts, but she didn’t say anything.

You just reminded me. I have a white i8, and a white 991 that’s going away soon, and I really need to get on making an ‘OMG it ate the 911!’ meme before it does. I’m sure someone’s already done it, but it’d make me feel creatively accomplished to do it myself, lol.

Thanks!

I am here to inspire. Just make sure to incorporate “NOM nom nom” in the meme.

How did you enjoy the 991 ownership? I had the privilege of driving one for 24 hours over 280 miles of CA backgrounds and it was a riot. That being said, I’m looking to purchase a 997.1 Carrera S or 987 Cayman S instead.

Namely because I feel those cars are bit more fun to drive on the street (also easier on the bank) and less bloated...

Don’t own it, so I fucking love it!

Really though, it’s strange, when I first started driving it I was all ‘Yeah, Porsche! Manual! Convertible!’, then for some reason I got tired of it for awhile (it can be tiresome to drive around town), but now I’m back to the point where I’m smitten with it. It just ticked over 7,000 miles coming back into town Monday night, and probably 3,000+ of those are mine. It’s a 2014 S Cab manual, which is great for me. If you’d at all consider convertible, I recommend trying one out - compared to a ‘14 650i convertible or ‘14 R8 V10 Spyder, it has a much more rigid body, to the point that there is no cowl shake or body flex whatsoever. I don’t know how they did it, but it’s just gone. Wish I could offer you a more direct comparison - the only other Porsche I’ve spent any real time in is an ‘87 Carrera 3.2 G50, but that was 10+ years ago when I was learning to drive, and I drove a 987 on a test when it first came out, and a V6 Panamera when the 991 was in the shop last week (‘check coolant system’ warning came on, I believe it was some sort of blocked coolant channel valve). If you have any more specific questions, I’d be happy to answer them! We still have it, but it is probably going away soon. Got the R8 V10 to replace it, but I’ve been driving the Porsche the past few weeks, because I’m really going to miss it.

Hah. I think many sports car can get tiresome when driven daily or in the wrong situations (variety is the spice of life).

I appreciate your thoughts on the car (and brand) and I am open to considering a Targa but a soft-top is unlikely. I’m coming out of 3 years of FR-S ownership and looking to purchase my first “real” sports car (used) to provide weekend fun and share commute duties half-time. Generally tend to get my thrills from canyon runs and the annual track day, so full-on performance variants are really overkill and underutilized by me.

The 987 is enticing since i like the size, engine placement, non-electric steering, MT and the right oomph for the street. It’s also a extremely well priced for the time being (~35-42K). Upgrading the big boy 997 gives me a bit more cruising comfort, a nicer engine and ticks “owning a 911” off the bucket list. It could be overkill for my situation though, and i want to be more realistic about my needs and realistic usage/budget. Its by no means an investment, I plan to drive.

I’d ask what options you found awesome (either initially or later) and what was really unnecessary. My mind isn’t entirely made up and I will test drive a Z4M, M3, C7 etc. just to be sure, but there is something to be said about Porsche engineering and quality. It just works and seems to endure the test of time.
